Framing the Problem

Planning a trip today is a fragmented, overwhelming process that forces travelers to juggle dozens of disconnected apps for maps, reviews, weather, and safety.

This "decision fatigue" is compounded for those with specific requirements—such as accessibility needs, strict budgets, or passport limitations—who find that generic travel guides fail to offer the nuance they need. Without a central hub that combines smart planning with community connection, travelers are left feeling isolated and burdened.

Idea Explanation

Our app uses Gemini to create fully formed travel itineraries which are unique to the user based on their preferences like destination, budget, accessibility, safety, group size. Users can generate multiple travel itinerates to compare, the can also tweak them enabling them to easily create their perfect travel itinerary where all elements of their holiday from home to back to home are planned in one location. Itinerates can also be shared with other users when travelling in a group.

Additionally, forums will be available which users can join and share their travel itinerary using tags. This is specifically designed for solo travelers looking to make connections whilst travelling.

Challenges

We were all very enthusiastic about creating a travel app that gave users an easy planning experience and a sense of community and had lots of ideas for elements to include in the app which made it hard to narrow down a simplistic concept.

Time was also a limitation and given more time we would have been able to build out our app more fully.

Accomplishments

We have a strong UX and API calls to various apps including Google Maps to create a tailored experience for users.

Next Steps

Future implementation would include providing the multiple users creating and updating a travel itinerary together.

Additionally we would have partnerships with booking sites that would enable users to completely plan and book their holiday in one app.
