The JSNation & React Summit Hackathon is a two-day hybrid hackathon sponsored by Progress and co-hosted by GitNation and HackathonParty, running alongside two of the world's leading JavaScript conferences, JSNation and React Summit.
Whether you're joining us in the heart of Amsterdam or building remotely from anywhere in the world, this is your chance to collaborate with talented engineers, tackle a real-world challenge, and build something that matters, all in 24 hours.
This hackathon is open to developers, designers, and innovators of all skill levels. Teams of up to 5 people will compete to build the best solution to a sponsor-defined challenge, judged on technical implementation, originality, and real-world impact.

Day 1, Thursday, June 11
9:00AM: Conference opening ceremony
9:15AM: Hackathon kicks off, Challenge revealed & team formation begins
10:00AM: Hacking begins
Throughout the day - Mentorship sessions, workshops & networking
Day 2, Friday, June 12
All morning - Continued hacking & mentor support
12:00PM: Submissions close
TBC: Team pitches & judging (schedule based on final participant numbers)
TBC: Winners announced & prizes awarded

FAQs
Who can participate? Anyone! The hackathon is open to developers, designers, and builders of all skill levels, from first-timers to seasoned professionals. Online participation is open globally. In-person spots are limited.
How do I register?
In-person: Register on the HackathonParty platform and claim a free Tito ticket (https://ti.to/gitnation/jsnation-2026/with/in-person-attendance-hackathon-ticket-june-11-12). Both are required to secure your spot.
Online: Register on the HackathonParty platform. That's it, no ticket needed.
How do teams work? Teams can have up to 5 members. You can form your own team or use HackathonParty's intelligent team matchmaking to be placed with a complementary group of builders.
Are there prizes? Yes! The total prize pool is €10,000, split between:
🥇 €7,000 for the top in-person team(s)
🌍 €3,000 for the top online team(s)
Full prize breakdown and distribution details will be announced closer to the event.
What should I bring?

An open mind and a collaborative spirit!
Wi-Fi and power will be provided on-site. Catering will also be available for in-person participants throughout the event.
Do I need to attend the full conference to participate in the hackathon? No. You can register for a hackathon-only ticket, which gives you access to the hackathon workspace and networking zone. If you want to attend JSNation and React Summit talks as well, you'll need a conference combo ticket.
When will the challenge be revealed? The full challenge brief will be revealed at the opening ceremony on the morning of June 11. This is intentional, no early starts!
Will there be mentors? Yes. Mentors will be available throughout both days to help with technical questions, ideation, and project direction. More details on the mentor lineup coming soon.
How does judging work? Judges will evaluate projects on technical implementation, originality, and impact. Judging takes place on the afternoon of June 12 after submissions close at 12:00 pm. Judges commit approximately 2–3 hours, primarily on the second day.
